I'm home on a Saturday night... that doesn't bother me nearly as much as it might have about 5 years ago. I guess I'm getting old:) Seth's watching the Patriot's game and I took down the majority of the Christmas decorations. Exciting, I know. But it's ok because I'm a bit under the weather with some sort of cold/sinus thing. Nothing major, just sniffily, sneezy, headachy and kinda tired. I slept a lot today and I'm taking lots of generic Tyleonal Sinus, which helped. I want to take it easy because I want to be completely healthy for New Year's Eve, which should be a lot of fun. I'm really looking forward to it and glad we're not having a party. It was just too much work last year.
We got a wireless router yesterday with some Best Buy gift cards we got for Christmas, and I'm loving being able to be online and sit in my comfy papasan chair.
The week has been good-- on Wednesday we saw the movie Juno which was really entertaining and just a good movie. Then that evening we went to House of Blues to see Brooke's boyfriend John's bank open for Rusted Root. It was very cool--- they played a great show and then we got to hang out afterwards. But House of Blues, as an organization, sucks. Their security is nazi-esque. We had to show IDs 4 seperate times (at the door we got a bracelet proving we were 21, but evidently that wasn't enough and we continually had to show ID, I got yelled at for leaning on a chair that was reserved for someone who wasn't there, Julie had to pay $5 to check her camera at the door, etc.). Then on Thursday I had a naprapath appointment and when I went to my car, it was completely dead. I took Seth's car, and then mom was coming up for lunch, and then Seth and I had to figure out how to give my car a jump from his. It was kind of amusing and in the end it worked. Then lunch with my mom was nice. And on Friday we went to the Field Museum to see the exhibit on maps which was really cool. Lots of extremely old maps, very cool to see the history of places and how different cultures conceptualized the idea of finding their place in the world. If I was in Humanities class, I would have wanted to do a project on it:) The on Friday evening we were going to go to Brew & View cuz Superbad and 40 year-Old Virgin are playing, but we ended up not going. It was snowy and slushy out and I didn't feel good.
Things have been good with Seth and I --- being able to spend so much time together helps us. I wish we could always spend a lot of time together but I know next week when he goes back to work it'll be more late nights at work for him and time alone for me. It's really too bad we can't get the weekly date night to work every week. It would be nice to have. But it always seems that Seth either has to work late, or just wants to watch some sporting event on TV, etc.
I need to get to the gym more. It's hard when it's cold and also the weeks around Christmas, the classes are really cut down at my gym so there's not as much yoga. Plus since I've felt kinda sick, I want to take it easy. And then after New Years the gym gets SOOOO annoying because it's super crowded for about 6 weeks with everyone who makes their resolutions. Parking sucks, the classes fill up, the lanes are all full during lap swim... it's frustrating.
I think maybe I should have some sort of theme or something for his blog. More than just writing about the mundane, or sometimes mildly exciting, happenings of my life. I'll have to keep writing and see what themes pop up.

Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas! Our Christmas was nice this year--- Christmas Eve was spent, as always, with my dad's side of the family... a nice dinner and gathering. Good company and good to catch up with family I don't see too often. Christmas Day was also great - it was the first Christmas that Seth and I got to have our Christmas morning with just the two of us (and Toby) in our condo (last year we were in Massachusetts) and that was fun. Toby loves opening his own presents... he goes into his stocking, takes out the gifts and tears the wrapping off. He was so happy today with all his new toys and treats!! Then we went to my grandma's house and spent time with my mom's side which was nice... got to catch up and see people. Then my mom wanted us to go to Gary's son's house to meet/spend time with his family and that was actually very nice.... we had a good time there -- they were a fun group.
So that's all for now - our break continues and we're going to be seeing movies, relaxing, etc. Should continue to be a nice time!!!

My first Blog
Wow... it's my first blog. I decided, after having a girls' night, that I wanted to start writing more. Just doing some reflecting and sharing and things like that. I miss doing it and I think it helps me process and better understand things in my life. So that's the explanation.
Right now, things are good. I'm on winter break, which I really needed... last week was pretty crazy at work. Plus Seth has this entire week off so we have a lot of time to do things we don't usually have time for like lounging around, watching movies, doing some organizing and cleaning. And Seth passed his exam (found out on Thurs) so I'm very happy about that!!
Christmas is coming up soon! Tomorrow for Christmas Eve we'll go to my dad's cousin's son & family's house (I know it's confusing) and that will be nice. Then Tuesday we'll have our first Christmas morning in our condo and with just the two of us so I'm excited for that:) Then we'll go to my grandma's house as always. Should be ok...
Anyway, that's all for now!!
